Joys poems celebrate what it is to be alive and also, perhaps, what it is to contemplate death. She hopes that each poem is:

Joy Mead is poet, a member of the Iona Community and the author of several previous books. She has been involved in development education and justice and peace work, and occasionally leads creative writing groups.
